Sam Hughes and the streets east of campus are lined with early 20th-century brick bungalows and revival-style houses, many still with original doors. North of campus, much of the housing is rented to students. Landlords rekey between leases; tenants call about lockouts and lost keys.

Dorms and university buildings are handled by the university itself. If you live in campus housing, contact housing first. Off-campus apartments near Speedway and Park have their own management offices.

On game days and move-in weekends, the streets around campus fill up. Give the locksmith clear directions and mention any permit-only parking on your block.

Fourth Avenue's north end and the Main Gate shops have small storefronts with busy doors and narrow aluminium stiles. A worn cylinder there is a common commercial call, and it is better replaced before it jams on a weekend.

Many Sam Hughes houses have detached garages or studios off the alley. Those outbuildings are easy to forget when keys are changed. Count them when you book a rekey so the right number of cylinders are planned.
